But even if she's somehow not super powerful, the basic question of "Is Shadow Warrior limited to only 2 skills when using a controller" is kind of important to deciding whether to use her or not. She could be much more powerful, in terms of raw damage, than a Shadow Warrior, with nearly zero effort compared to M&K input.ĭon't know if anyone tested this yet. Or bind every elemental MA skill and she has an insane tri-element Phoenix Strike. Now that, possibly, she can access all bound skills at once, you could bind say, every Lightning Sentry synergy skill and she could instantly have the equivalent of a level 50 lightning sentry. She can get insane synergies and skill levels way past what any player can achieve. Also, unlike the player, her synergies are NOT CAPPED at 20. Before that meant dancing around your hotkeys to force her to use them, and then having her juiced up thereafter. Unlike the player, she doesn't "have" a skill until she uses it. But the OTHER buff is the way her synergies work. Better to kind of stay at his side and track his movements so you remain at his side or behind. I found it best if you don't get too far in front of him as it makes it hard to outrun his eye lasers. First is obviously having more moves, bringing her closer to Shadow Master for 1 less skill point while also retaining some control. I had no problem with the first boss on my first playthrough on Normal, but on Insane I found him quite chalenging until I found a rhythm. This could mean she is now using 2-3 other skills you're prefer she didn't instead.Īs a buff though, two things. You could have her lay down Death Sentries while you focus on kicks, for instance. Before, you could limit her to two very specific skills. If so, this is a big change that could also be a huge buff or nerf to Shadow Warrior, depending how you view it.Īs a nerf, it takes away the control you have over her. It occurred to me with controller support, there is no more limitation on "ready moves." All your skills, or at least a LOT of them, are available all the time.ĭoes Shadow Warrior now use ANY move that is bound to a button? And does that include the "hidden" moves bound to LT+buttons? If you wanted her to use Fade, you had to bring up Fade yourself. If you were using Dragon Talon and Death Sentry, she would use Dragon Talon and Death Sentry. Otherwise I wouldn't put this game anywhere near, say, Serious Sam Mental difficulty. So, traditionally, Shadow Warrior was the more "controlled" Shadow because the only moves it could do were whatever you had up on your right/left click boxes. Probably the only fight in the entire game I felt challenged by. Because it swamps you with tough opponents, especially if you fight them in the wrong order. Again, 3 years after the release and developers didn't bother. The workaround - pause the game as he is at 0 HP from your slashes. Sometimes this happens even after a few full HP regenerations, when its supposed to trigger the script. But here is the kicker - you're actually fairly capable of bringing Zilla to 0 HP even on the first regeneration, while his HP regen speed is high. You're supposed to let him heal to full a number of times. Script seems to be broken in this section too. You'll have to use explosive weapon (read - Rocket Launcher) or that section becomes extremely tedious. 3 years after the release, still noone bothered to patch it. Hitboxes are broken on the second crystal. Obviously, spoilers incoming.įirst - Mezu boss fight. I'd say game is mostly relatively normal in difficulty on Insane, if you know what to abuse.
